Well it is June 21st already and Summer is here - I hope you all have a great and safe one. The Ladies will be getting together for their off months outings and their celebration of the 71st Anniversary along with the Unit.

How time flies when you are having fun. As we look back over the years, memories come and go and with it the loss of a great many of our members and long time friends. As our Ladies look back they remember the hard work and dedication of all our Ladies that are no longer with us; there have been many. We will remem-ber them as well as the many hours we spent in the kitchen and club rooms at one function or another, volun-teering on some committee or sports event. Grey Cup games were always fun and western days were a blast - parades and all. Who could ever forget Reg Baldwin’s Vera Lynn’s night complete with blue dress, white gloves and all that blonde hair. Memories are great but also a little sad when we realize they are just that and it is time to make new ones and move on.

The Unit is in full swing for Canada Day with many events and fun planned by our Entertainment Chair and her committee - looks like a full day and evening of comraderie for all.

The Ladies are planning their annual August long weekend at the Down’s Brunch and an afternoon of trying to see who comes up with a winning horse, it usually turns out to be a lot of fun. The Ladies will also be do-ing their Saturday Meat Draw on July 29th as this month has five Saturdays in it. I hope the Ladies have their calendars marked for this. The Ladies next General Meeting is Monday, September 11th at 2:00pm.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Deb Orton and family on the passing of Dad and Husband Bob.

When you are out celebrating Canada Day and our country’s 150th Birthday, remember to take a few mo-ments to thank a Veteran for this special day and the Freedom we all share

To our Servicemen and Women and your families - you are always in our prayers.

We Will Remember Them
