Well October is over and Oldman Winter is just around the corner as we get out the woollies and gloves. November will bring on all the winter sports leagues and hopefully some new members into the Club.

The Ladies have just had their April Convention as it was delayed until October. It went well and all the Ladies Units want to thank President Bill Todd and his Unit for their help and Irene for the noon meal. The Ladies had a good turnout with four of our members present. President Elvia who is now 3rd Vice on the Command Executive were able to have Isabell Geard as Secretary and Donna Jensen from Brandon as Second Vice as the other officers agreed to stay as they had been. The First Vice is Gertie Nick and Sports is Everetta Nick and as no one wanted to run for President Beryl is on her tenth term (20 years). This is a long time to be able to work Shoulder to Shoulder with so many members.

The Ladies started their day at 9:30am Sunday, October 15th and finished at 2:45pm and managed to attend the Quarterly joint opening with President Gord Kent and his Officers and members.

The 283 Ladies had their October meat draw and they had a good day as it was seven draws and the Hamper draws as well. Other than that they have had little to do. We are going to work on the Remembrance Day lunch with President Len Cook and his volunteers so we should have a good group out on November 10th at 10:00am.

Linda Messervey will carry colours for the Ladies Auxiliary as Rae has asked her to and the Ladies will lay their wreath. Ladies Auxiliary President Beryl Torgasows will lay a wreath for Provincial Command Ladies as this is her alternate year from the Convention Centre.

The Ladies hope all our members that are or were under the weather are feeling better and will soon join us at the Club.

As November brings many memories to each of us in different ways just remember the freedom you enjoy and if you meet a Veteran this month or any day, say THANK YOU. To our Servicemen and Women and their families our prayers and thanks are always with you wherever you are.
