Curling
The Assiniboia Unit 283 Curling League has been going strong for over 30 years. We originally curled out of the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club, and today we are proud to call the Deer Lodge Curling Club our home. You will find us at 425 Woodlawn Street, right beside the St. James Civic Centre.
We are a mixed curling league that plays Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Yes, it’s early—but that’s the beauty of it. You are off the ice before lunch and free to enjoy the rest of your day.
When the game wraps up, you can grab a bite from Willy Dogs Inc., operating out of Deer Lodge during the winter. In the summer, you will spot his hot dog carts around the city. From signature hot dogs and “to‑die‑for” burgers to quesadillas, chicken wings, and classic fries, there is something for everyone.
We are always excited to welcome new teams and individual players. For the 2025–2026 season, we have eight rinks competing, with room for up to twelve thanks to six available sheets of ice.
You can find our league online at anaf283curling.weebly.com. Visit the site for our schedule, league standings, and a look at past trophy winners.
You will also find our league members volunteering at the Friday Night Sports Meat Draw at Unit 283. The funds raised help keep our curling fees affordable.
Whether you are a seasoned curler or brand new to the sport, we have a place for you. Grab your broom, bring a friend, and join a welcoming, laid‑back league that is all about good company and a great time.
