  Men's Snooker - Rick Thain

The Men's Snooker Singles and Doubles leagues got underway on Monday, September 14th and 15th respect-fully. In the singles league there are 24 players all enjoying the opportunity to play competitive snooker again. The majority of players are returning from last year however there is one new player in the league Adnan Mohammed, he played as a spare in the Doubles league last year and we are please to see him in the Singles League. The 24 players have been divided into two 12 man groups for the start of the round robin portion of the season. Divisional matches will start in the new year.

In the Doubles League, there are only 16 teams down from the 20 teams in the previous year. Most of the teams have returned again this year, however, there are a few newly created teams this season including: new-comer Martin Harris teaming up with Glen Collins, Leigh Sherry teaming up with long time player Wayne Des Roche, Ken Cade has a new partner with Adnan Mohammed, Peter Curry and John Goodwin are a new team, while Perry Whitesell has been joined with his brother Rick Whitesell and Rae Roberts has a new part-ner Leo Dasconio. So with these new team it should proved to be quite a year for the Men's Doubles Snooker League. The first part of the season is a round robin portion with divisional matches to follow in the new year.

Hopefully play in both the Singles and Doubles snooker leagues will continue uninterrupted during these pan-demic times.
